Land Camp 2023 | Actua & Livingstone Range School Division

In May and June 2023, Actua supported Livingstone Range School Division in creating two Land Camps, one of which was held at Castle Wilderness Provincial Park. The natural world became the classroom for more than 20 students in Grades 7 to 12 who connected traditional Blackfoot and Métis practices to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM). Under the guidance of indigenous community/cultural leaders and Industry professionals, students learned about cultural practices along with field-based science data collection and analysis. Each night, students had the opportunity to reflect upon their learning and hear from Elders. See our video:
